Kraken Parent Payward Ties Up With Singapore Gulf Bank for Round-the-Clock Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net to offer 24/7 real-time clearing for institutional clients across Asia and the Gulf region.
Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, has struck a partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank to deliver around-the-clock settlement infrastructure for institutional participants in digital asset markets. The integration of SGB Net, the bank's real-time clearing network, allows eligible clients to finalize transactions at any hour rather than waiting for traditional settlement windows.
The agreement targets institutional players operating across Asia and the Gulf region, two markets where demand for continuous, reliable clearing has grown alongside the expansion of digital asset trading desks. By removing the time constraints associated with conventional banking rails, both firms are positioning the partnership as a solution to one of the persistent friction points in institutional crypto markets: the inability to settle large positions outside of standard business hours.

Beyond the clearing integration, Singapore Gulf Bank will onboard Kraken Prime — Payward's institutional prime brokerage arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That move is expected to deepen the pool of assets available to SGB's own institutional clients, potentially tightening spreads and improving execution quality for large orders.
The deal reflects a broader industry push to bring institutional-grade infrastructure to crypto markets, where settlement delays and fragmented liquidity have historically deterred some traditional finance participants. Partnerships that bridge regulated banking entities with established crypto venues are increasingly seen as a path toward mainstream adoption among asset managers and corporate treasuries.
